We give to our state and local mission efforts through the McGuire State Missions offering, Florida Baptist Children's Home Mother's Day offering, and Associational giving. We also financially support several local mission organizations, such as A Women's Pregnancy Center, PHI Center, local Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Big Bend Child Evangelism Fellowship, and Charlie Greenwell, who ministers to our local college campuses through Navigators. We also minister to the Hispanic and migrant community. This has become one of our most vital and fruitful mission ministries. Each year God brings hundreds of migrant workers to Tallahassee for us to minister to. We meet physical needs, including food, clothing, and medical care. We meet spiritual needs through sharing the Gospel, Bible study, Christian videos, etc. Out of this ministry two very exciting things have happened. First, we began to develop a local permanent Hispanic ministry at our church. This permanent group is now providing leadership and using their gifts to minister and reach out to other Hispanics in our community. Second, it has led us to see the needs of the migrant and Hispanic community outside of Tallahassee, in our neighboring cities and counties. This has led to an intentional and organized effort to begin a ministry to Hispanics in Gadsden County. We now have over 30 Hispanics involved in weekly Bible study. Please continue to pray for this mission and its leadership. If you would like to be a part of these mission efforts, please feel free to visit, call or e-mail Steve Vaughan anytime.
Financially, we help fund North American missionaries through giving to the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention and through the Annie Armstrong Christmas Offering. We are also financially helping a new church start in downtown Atlanta called 1027 Church. This church is essentially the only active Christian presence in the southern part of downtown Atlanta. Please lift Tim and Pam Wolfe up in prayer, as they face tremendous obstacles every day and do so with a joy and perseverance that can only come from trust in God and His calling on their lives. We also participate in national missions through an organization called Builders for Christ. Builders for Christ brings together different churches to help build church buildings for churches who can afford materials, but would struggle greatly or be unable to afford the necessary labor costs. TRBC has been participating in this mission ministry for 15 years and has helped build 16 different churches. |
