The Pursue Youth Ministry strives to maintain a culture of ongoing discipleship for our students to learn and grow deeper in their walk with Christ. We desire every student to feel at home as we teach and train them to know Christ and make him known. There are two tracks the Pursue Youth Ministry utilizes in our ministry strategy: Discipleship and Missions. Please take a minute to look into both at the dropdown bars below.
Wednesdays during the semester consist of worship, games, community fellowship, and House Groups. Our cafe opens at 5:15 p.m. and allows students to hang out after school until service.
Our typical service time is 6:15 p.m - 7:45 p.m. After large group worship and teaching, our students go into House Groups, which meet in classrooms to discuss the message further. This is a time for our mentors to disciple students.
Multi-generational worship in the Worship Center at 9:15 a.m.
Age-appropriate Small Group Bible Studies meet at 10:45 a.m. in the Youth Building.
Biblical Basis:
Practically on Sunday Morning: It is on Sunday Morning that we focus on learning the Bible. We use The Gospel Project curriculum. The lessons focus on God’s big story of redemption throughout history. We are systematically learning each week His plan of redemption for all people.
Practically on Wednesday night: Wednesday nights become The Point for Youth. It is a time that is focused on discipling students through small and large group experiences. We want to connect students to God, other students, and adult mentors. This is done through youth-led worship experiences, small and large group teaching times, and connections groups, called “house groups.”
Biblical Basis:
Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Our strategic missions plan includes:
1. Our Jerusalem, which is Tallahassee
2. Our Judea, which includes the area up to 4 hours around our church
3. Our Samaria, which includes the USA
4. Our “end of the earth,” which includes anywhere overseas
Practically, we fulfill this commandment by serving:
1. Our “Jerusalem”, the City of Tallahassee, each month through Jerusalem Teams
2. Our “Judea,” in the summer on our Middle School Mission Trip
3. Our “Samaria,” in the summer on our High School Mission Trip
4. Our “end of the earth” in the summer on our Senior Mission Trip (graduated 12th grade)
