Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care and Assimilation

Pastor Barrett began service with TRBC in January of 1998 as an interim in Education, following the filling of that position Brother Lampp was invited to serve as Associate Pastor in April of that same year.  His assignments have been varied and he now serves as Associate for Assimilation and Pastoral Care.  He and Connie celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary November 27th, which is the first time since they were married in 1958 that it has occurred on Thanksgiving Day.

Barrett has served churches in California, Utah, Colorado and Florida.  He was Licensed by Olivette Baptist Church, Ocala, Sept. 23rd, 1951 and Ordained by Chester Baptist Church, Chester, California, November 20th, 1965.  Prior to his ordination, He served churches primarily in capacity of Minister of Music and Education.

Barrett and Connie have two grown children: LaCynda (LaCy) is married to Michael Dufrene and their 12 year old son Micah are residents of Baalborn, GE., where Michael is employed by the Department of Defense.  Brent is married to Jaenelle (Leffler) and they reside in Scotia, CA., where Jaenelle is District Supt. Of Schools and Brent is a Pastor in the neighboring community of Rio Del, CA.

Education: Attended John B. Stetson Univ., DeLand, Fl., Reedley Jr. College, CA., and completed BA at California Baptist University, Riverside, CA.;  Completed the MDiv at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Mill Valley, CA., and has completed the residency for the ThM at GGBTS, Thesis wasn’t completed.

Vitals: Born November 27, 1933, in Lakeland, FL.

What do you love most about working with TRBC? I firmly believe it’s where the Lord has placed each of us, and I love those relationships as we serve HIM together!

Who is the most influential person in your life? Jesus!

What inspires you? Jesus’ demonstrated LOVE for PEOPLE!

Any Hidden Talents? No…. ‘cause they’re hidden….. but, there are several things I enjoy doing…. I like music, sports and puzzles…….

What are your hobbies? Harmonica, Golf, Tennis, Sports of all kinds, Stringed Instruments, Reading/Research, Multi-Cultures & Languages, Close Harmony Vocal Music, and substantive change.

Life Long Goal: To Please JESUS, and Encourage OTHERS.

Little Known Fact About Me: I’m a true “Florida Cracker”…. Have chased cows through the piney woods of Florida with a “Bull Whip”….

Favorites: People - everybody, even those I haven’t met and places, especially places I haven’t been able to visit.

Book (other than the Bible): Any good Grammatic and Analytical Concordance.

Movie: Disney’s “White Wilderness”….. the first Movie I attended with Connie!

Restaurant: Several I like, but, still looking. . . . . . .

Ice Cream: Butter Pecan…… preferably “Homemade”

Childhood Memory: Riding Horses and Motorcycles…… sitting in front of my DAD!
