Reflections on Haiti now that we are back in Florida

First of all I would like to let you know that we heard from Wilbert just a short while ago.  He and his people are fine and he thanks you for your prayers.  Please continue to pray on the behalf of those effected by this earthquake.

When we find out more about relief efforts that TRBC may be involved in we will let you know at that time.

While in Haiti the other day a group of us were talking about our purpose and vision in Haiti and for the first time I think I articulated well why we have partnered with Living Hope Mission to share God's love and truth to northern Haiti.  I have forever heard that Haiti was simply a "black hole of despair and need."  that no amount of effort or money or people would ever change Haiti, and this could very well be true.  But what else is true is that we can change an impact one life at a time in Haiti.  Whether it is providing a loving church in a community that leads a young child to Christ, or a school that helps educate a child so they can better themselves and learn to support themself in a productive, useful way, or a well that provides clean drinking water which can preserve the life and health of that child our partnership with Living Hope is impacting and changing the lives of those children in Haiti.  It is my hope that it is the future of one or more of these changed lives that would come together to put the pieces in place to someday change Haiti itself.  So when you view these pictures think not of a country in desperate need of change, but of those lives touched that might bring about this change.
