What we take for granted

What are things we take for granted everyday?  Electricity, AC, refrigeration, 3 meals, all of the above.  We would be upset if any of these were taken from us but we could live.  How about clean drinking water?  We wouldn't last long without it at all.  Each day we turn on our fawcet with no thought to whether there will be water there or not or if it is clean and healthy for us to drink, or heaven forbid that it is polluted or could be harmful to us.  In Haiti everyday finding clean water is a challenge.  We have tried to help reduce this challenge in Northern Haiti over the years by helping with repairs to existing wells and pumps as well as the drilling and providing of new pumps.

So next time you turn on your fawcet, thank God for our clean, life giving water, but also remember that there are those in Haiti and around the world who never take for granted that tomorrow will bring a new supply of clean water.

Attached is a video of children in Juchereau pumping out water for the day in a well that we have helped keep in service since it was installed five years ago.
