Ways to Serve

Using Time, Talent, and Gifts to the Glory of God

Ways to Serve

At Thomasville Road Baptist Church, we believe God has created each of us with a unique and purposeful design for our lives. As we learn to follow Christ, we are called to live out that faith by loving and serving others. We encourage all of our members to use their gifts, talents, abilities and life experiences to serve others within our church, in our community and in our world. All of our ministries, programs and events are designed to help others grow as followers of Christ. Some opportunities are one-time commitments while others are weekly or monthly commitments. If a specific contact person is not listed, please contact Steve Vaughan at 850-386-4288 or stevevaughan@thomasvilleroad.organd he will help you find a place to serve!

Worship Ministry

At Thomasville Road, the Worship Ministry exists to "spotlight Jesus with the arts." There are several ways to become involved in the Worship Ministry team, including serving weekly in our Worship Choir, singing on a vocal team, playing in the orchestra or rythm section, or participating in one of our age-graded choirs. Contact: Jason Pamblanco at 850-386-4288 or

Parking Ministry

Our campus can seem very large to someone visiting for the first time. Our Parking Team greets our guests with a smile while directing traffic, giving parking directions, and welcoming people to our campus each Sunday morning and during special events. This team works on a rotating basis throughout the year.

Our greeters are posted at most of the entry doors around campus. This team welcomes guests and members with a warm smile and a handshake or a hug. They keep an eye out for guests and help them find the Guest Information desk or the nursery or Small Group Bible Study classroom.

Guest Information Desk

The Guest Information Desk is often the first place our guests go once they enter the Worship Center. Here they can ask questions, get directions to places on campus, be advised as to which Small Group they may want to attend, and much more. The Guest Information Desk is staffed by eager and helpful servants on Sunday morning and at other times during special events.

This ministry team assists worshippers each Sunday morning by passing out worship folders, helping people find seating in our Worship Center and helping collect the offering.

Adult Small Group Bible Study

Small Group Bible Study (SGBS) is not just for students and children. Each Sunday, we provide small group environments essential to helping adults become connected to others and grow in their relationship with Christ. Our SGBS classes become like a second family as we care for one another and serve one another. Teachers and other volunteers are vital in making new guests feel welcome and encouraging class members.

Preschool Ministry

Our little ones need loving adults who can help them learn more about Jesus. From rocking babies to serving snacks to telling Bible stories, you can make a difference in the life of a child and give parents a much-needed break to go to worship and Bible study. All preschool volunteers must be a member of the church for at least 6 months and submit to a background check. Contact: Janice Meyer at 850-386-4288 or

Children’s Ministry

Our children love to learn about Jesus! You can help them on their journey by leading a Small Group Bible Study, helping with Girls in Action, Royal Ambassadors, or Children's Choirs on Wednesday nights or volunteering for Vacation Bible School. All children’s ministry volunteers must be a member of the church for at least 6 months and submit to a background check. Contact: Dayle Isted at 850-386-4288 or

Pursue Youth Ministry

Use your gifts, talents and life experiences to invest in the life of a young person as he or she follows Christ. You could welcome youth as they arrive on Sunday mornings, hand out food on Wednesdays in the Snack Shack, lead a Small Group, chaperone an event, participate in a youth mission trip, or host a group in your home for Disciple Now Weekend. The possibilities are endless! All youth ministry volunteers must be a member of the church for at least 6 months and submit to a background check. Contact: Kevin Hall at 850-386-4288 or

Flower Ministry

On Monday mornings, this ministry team takes our beautiful flower arrangement used on the stage in the Sunday worship services and recreates smaller arrangements to take to our members who are homebound or in assisted living facilities. What a wonderful way to share a warm smile and encouraging word with our homebound members who are no longer able to worship with their church family!

Stich-N-Serve Sewing Ministry

This team is the perfect combination of service and fellowship. This team gets together to sew on Friday mornings at the church. They look for ways to bless others with their sewing talents whether it is making beautiful baby blankets for new mothers or sewing on achievement patches for the girls and boys in GAs and RAs.

Cookie Ministry

Do you love to bake? Then we need you for our Cookie Ministry Team! This team bakes delicious cookies to give to the Ronald McDonald House, area hospice houses and nursing homes.

Community Events

Throughout the year we need volunteers to help with our large community-wide outreach events. These are typically one-time commitments for a 2-3 hour block of time. Watch your worship folder for details on how to help and where to sign up.

  • Serve the City (March) - This is a church-wide community outreach even that gives us the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our city. TRBC small groups each choose a project of their own to do together on Serve the City Day.
  • Easter Egg Hunt (March/April) – Donate candy, stuff candy into eggs, set up for the event, help with parking, greet people, hide eggs, help in a booth, make cotton candy, serve popcorn, or clean up after the event.
  • Fall Festival (October) – Donate candy, set up for the event, help with parking, work a game booth, serve food, or clean up after event.
  • Jingle Mingle (December) – Donate items, stuff goody bags, set up for event, sing Christmas carols, park cars, serve hot chocolate, hand out goody bags, or clean up after event.
  • Conferences, concerts and community events – Throughout the year we may bring in musical artists or guest speakers.  These events require many people to help with registrations, park cars, take tickets, usher people to their seats, set up/break down equipment, and clean up after the event.
