The Health and Wellness Ministry’s focus is to provide the encouragement, knowledge and tools needed to equip the body of Christ to lead healthy lives in body, mind and spirit so that they can make a radical impact for Christ in the world.
Jesus Christ came to bring healing and wholeness and fullness in every area of our lives. When we commit our life to Christ, he brings balance that only He can in our spirit, thoughts, emotions, relationships, and physical bodies.
The Greatest commandment that Jesus told us is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30, NIV). God cares about all aspects of our health. We want to take care of our mind, body, heart and soul and trust that He will strengthen us and produce abundant life in us as we serve Him with our whole being!
Spiritual: Most importantly, our lives are grounded with a firm foundation in Christ. We want to always grow and nurture our personal relationship with Christ. We do this through continuous prayer, worship, seeking His wisdom and studying His Word, the Bible.
Emotional: God created us with a full range of human emotions. When we rely on Him, He directs and teaches us ways to manage and express them in healthy and appropriate ways. We learn to listen, share, and respond in love to the people in our lives as we relate these emotions in our daily lives.
Mental: Studying God’s Word helps us keep our mind, will and thought patterns healthy. When we turn away from the patterns of this world and renew our minds daily in Christ, we are able to understand God’s will. Godly thoughts lead us to make decisions that produce Christ-honoring actions and behaviors. “Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect” (Romans 12:2, NLT)
Social: We were created by God to encourage, serve and help one another. We need to take time to nurture our relations with family, friends, co-workers and neighbors in our community.
Physical: Our bodies are a gift from God and we honor Him when we take care of them. Eating healthy foods to fuel our bodies, keeping hydrated, staying active, exercising to build physical endurance and getting the sleep and rest required for our bodies to function efficiently are all ways that we can be good stewards of our bodies.

Be a part of our 2018-2019 Challenge Team! We are now starting to train for the 45th Tallahassee Marathon relay style (teams of 4) or the Half Marathon. The relay teams were so much fun last year and we would love to bring a big group of teams out again this year! The running requirement is anywhere from 5-9 miles, depending on which leg you run. We also would love to have you join us in training if you are running the individual half marathon (13.1 miles). Our first team training run is Saturday, November 17th at 7:30 am at TRBC as we prepare for the big event on February 3rd, 2019. Contact Dawn Gamache at email@example.com if you are interested in joining the team!
Recreational Sports Teams: We offer opportunities for our community to get involved and participate in various sports leagues throughout the year. Currently, we have active basketball and softball teams and look forward to adding more in the future!
