  • From Sundays (9:15 & 10:45am) to Wednesdays (6:15pm) and everything in between, we’ve got a place for you! How can we help you find your fit?

Thomasville Road Baptist Church’s youth ministry strives to be biblical, balanced, and strategic. We work to build up our young people and engage them in diverse ways. Before graduating high school, we want our youth to experience a variety of Bible studies, missions, and life challenges. The youth ministry utilizes the LifeDelta Strategic Student Ministry Plan to keep our kids engaged. We have strategic plans for Sunday school, discipleship, missions, and leadership. Our kids have fun, enjoy fellowship, and love God.

“Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” -2 Timothy 2:22 NIV

Our Town - Jerusalem Teams

The Strategy

OURTOWN is the place where God has commanded us as believers living in Tallahassee to serve Him. The Acts 1:8 mandate is clear:

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Here in this verse, we see Jesus calling all His disciples to serve: in their town, their region (state for us), in their country, and to the ends of the earth.

OURTOWN, the first of four mission levels in our student ministry's seven-year mission strategy, gives students the opportunity to plan and execute mission opportunities throughout the school year. We encourage all TRBC members to get involved with these opportunities to share Christ in tangible ways with our Jerusalem, the areas closest to where we live.

The Teams

OURTOWN Level One mission opportunities are organized into the following four teams:

  1. Good Neighbor Team - This team focuses on serving TRBC's physical neighbors. These include the neighborhoods and businesses close to our church. God calls us to be a "good neighbor" to all of those around us.
  2. Across Town Team - This team focuses on serving the neighborhoods/persons who are on the other side of Tallahassee. We serve them in a variety of ways.
  3. Street Team - This team focuses on "taking the gospel to the streets." They focus on serving all agest through practical, evangelistic opportunities.
  4. Agency Team - This team focuses on serving God through the "already established agencies" who are already serving God. The team focuses primarily on three agencies (although they are not limited to these three): the Florida Baptist Children's Home, A Woman's Pregnancy Center, and the Breakfast in the Park group. This team joins hands with these agencies to serve God alongside them as they serve others.

All TRBC members are encouraged to find a join the team they feel they can best serve

School Bible Studies

School Bible Studies are designed to encourage:

  • Student Bible study throughout the week
  • Connection with peers who attend the same school.
  • Shining light in community by using a public location
  • Showing a Christian testimony to the workers and patrons of restaurant

We try to have a Bible Study location where every student can attend, and from every grade.

These studies are developed and taught by Kevin Hall, Youth Pastor at Thomasville Road Baptist Church and his friends.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If Leon County Schools are out there will be no studies on that day.

Small Group Bible Study

  • Grade specific Sunday school classes meet 9:15am or 10:45am in the youth building.
  • Parents of Youth meet at 9:15am in the Loft (class for youth parents that have not already connected to a Small Group Bible Study class).

The Point

  • Students - Wednesdays at 6:15pm – Youth worship and Bible study for all youth, grades 6th – 12th.
  • Point for Parents – This seminar-style class meets at various times through the year upstairs in the Loft.  Watch the worship folder on Sundays for the dates and topics of each class.

Youth Missions

Pursue Youth Missions are based on Acts 1:8  "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

  • Level 1: Our Jerusalem (Our Town) – For all students and members of TRBC – Jerusalem Teams serve throughout the school year focusing on serving opportunities in and around the Tallahassee area. For current events, check the Our Town tab.
  • Level 2:  Judea (MSMT) – For students who have completed 6th, 7th or 8th grades.  Middle School students travel somewhere in our region and experience a variety of mission opportunities.
  • Level 3:  Samaria (HSMT) – For students who have completed 9th, 10th or 11th grades.  High School students travel within the USA, Territories and Canada and experience a variety of mission opportunities outside of their state/region.
  • Level 4: “Ends of the Earth” (SIMT) For students who have completed the 12th grade.  Graduated students travel outside of the U.S. and experience mission opportunities in a different country and culture. This will be a final worldview challenge for students as they move on to the next stage of their lives.
