Get to know John Finch, Jr.

John Finch and his family (wife Theresa and their 3 boys, Isaiah, Noah, and Josiah) have been faithful members at TRBC since 2013. Since this time they have served in a variety of capacities, including leading a small group, serving two year olds, Awanas, RA’s, as a deacon, More than Mom’s and much more. Outside of church, Theresa and John serve as a host home with the Safe Families for Children ministry. John thought he was called into full-time ministry in his early 20’s, but God showed him serving individuals with disabilities was his calling. He worked for 10 years at the Arc of Florida, which advocates for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This led him to a career with Florida Prepaid College Board, where he serves as the director of ABLE United, a statewide disability savings program. However, God has always weighed on his heart that one day he would serve His church in a new way, which led him to be elected to serve as Elder in 2023.

Hobbies and Interests:
In my limited spare time when I’m not chasing children or falling asleep on the couch, I enjoy tabletop board games like Wingspan or Pandemic, not so much Monopoly or Scrabble. I also enjoy reading, running and doing yard work.

Fact People May Not Know About You:
Elder Marty Sloan and I were both born in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
